Types of Massage
Therapies offered at Rejuvenation Massage Therapy.
- Relaxation/Esalen:
a massage technique characterized by long, flowing, gentle,
strokes, this technique is gentle, relaxing, and nurturing.
- Swedish Massage:
The most common form of massage, Swedish massage provides
relaxation and eases aches and pains. This form of massage
can vary from gentle to vigorous. It features gliding, circular,
kneading, rolling, wringing, and percussion strokes, and
is especially helpful in increasing circulation and stimulating
the lymphatic and immune systems.
- Connective Tissue
Massage: A very gentle technique, focused on softening
and freeing up restrictions in connective tissues.
- Sports Massage:
Sports massage focuses on improving performance for the
athlete. Traditional massage techniques are combined with
a variety of compression, friction, and stretching techniques.
- Deep Tissue
Massage: Massage work focused on penetrating to the
deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissues, to
release tension and stress and to facilitate healing of
chronic pain conditions.
- Trigger Point/Neuromuscular
Therapy: This technique can help eliminate pain caused
by trigger points. A trigger point is an area of hyperirritability
within a skeletal muscle. Trigger points often cause zones
of referred pain in nearby muscles. Trigger points can be
deactivated or often eliminated by the use of various massage
techniques.
- Soft Tissue
Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation: This includes
assessing the client to determine where injuries are causing
dysfunction in muscles and connective tissues, and applying
various massage techniques to bring the body back into balance.
- Pre-and Post-Natal
Massage: Specialized techniques for expectant and
new mothers, focusing on relieving pregnancy related pain
and tension and enhancing overall wellness.
- CranioSacral
Therapy: a very gentle, noninvasive, subtle massage
technique used for assessing and treating dysfunctions in
the CranioSacral system through gentle manipulations of
the head, neck, spinal column, and sacrum.
- On-Site & Corporate Chair Massage
- Hot Stone Massage:
A technique using heated basalt stones and essential oils
to provide a unique massage experience which is extremely
relaxing and detoxifying. Hot Stone Massage is designed
for healthy individuals; certain chronic medical conditions
contraindicate the use of this technique.
- Aromatherapy:
the use of aromatic plant oil essences to enhance the massage
experience and help promote health and wellness.
